Qatar University joins SAP University Alliance [title]SAP and OpenText donate to help Ethiopia[/title]
At the 8th International SAP Utilities Conference, OpenText announced it is partnering with SAP in sponsoring UNICEF�s Clean Water for Ethiopia project.
The companies will be giving away as a donation around $29,000 to the cause, helping the country recover from natural disasters, including flooding that affected nearly 1 million people. Additionally, the charity will assist in establishing education to manage the new water wells and positively affect 2,000 children in the area.
According SAP PM of the convention, Anja Englehardt, it is important to help improve the living conditions of the less fortunate. "As a global business leader, SAP is committed to such a goal, and supporting social projects is a key part of SAP's corporate responsibility efforts,� said Englehardt. �We're pleased to continue our involvement in this meaningful project with OpenText and UNICEF.� The company, maker of
SAP security solutions, released its annual sustainability report last month. The issue of sustainability is a major issue worldwide and the report outlines ways IT companies can improve sustainable operations, use less energy and improve revenue, while also decreasing their carbon footprint.
